KICKSTANDS UP IN 30 HOURS & 40 MINS!! (Teasers & Excerpt)

I'm BEYOND excited for this book to drop already! The Motorcycles, Masters & Mardi Gras II Party kicks off at 1PM Tuesday and I'm ready for the ride! (Are you ready?) Hope you enjoy the teasers and the excerpt!

EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER-MIDNIGHT RIDER

I breathed a sigh of relief and pushed through the branches—taking in the beauty of the dawn. Dew spattered my legs, and then I fell flat on my face in the slick grass. Gravel and sticks cut up into my knees and I laid there wonderin’—if a girl falls in the woods and no one’s around to hear, does she still make a sound?

As I answered my own question by hollering at the world—“Fuck my life! I can’t believe I got into this mess!”—I felt the vibrations on the asphalt. I looked up and saw it comin’. The lights and the rumble of the pipes came closer. So much for bein’ alone—now I’m mortified, and there’s a witness.

“Fuck me and my miserable life!” I prayed he was a ghost.

It didn’t take long for that vibration to be replaced with a screeching sound as the bike came to a quick stop. Dirt and dust blew up in a cloud around us.

“Holy shit—are you alright?”

The rugged guy climbed off the motorcycle—he had a frantic sound to his deep voice. I could tell he was tryin’ to figure me like I’d been figurin’ him.

“I’m fine!” I didn’t intend to come off as sharply as I did—but I was just this side of a nervous breakdown and ready to climb over soon. One look at me and a blind man would know I may’ve been a lot of things, but fine was not one of ‘em.

“Then you must be fuckin’ crazy! What in Hell would possess you to be walkin’ around in the dark and fog?”

I watched his black eyes lookin’ me over. He had to notice the bruises coverin’ me. Some were already yellow, others an ugly purple—they were everywhere. How could he miss ‘em?

I was too wiped out to engage this man in any sorta conversation and turned on my heels and started walkin’ into the mist of the morning. Better to put some distance between me and yet another person I’d have to run from. This one didn’t look like he’d be easy to get away from either.

My skin was wet with sweat and dew—my hair matted and hangin’ heavy down my back like a noose. Maybe he’d think I was an apparition and leave it be.

“Hey, don’t walk away from me!”

Or maybe not.

“I coulda killed you, ya know?”

I didn’t even turn to look, but his words had a strange kinda nonchalance I’d never heard before.

“Well, you wouldn’t be the first man to say that to me, and you surely won’t be the last.” My own composure was unsettling—like I was speakin’ the God’s honest truth, without question.

I felt his ebony eyes through my back. I wanted to turn around, but didn’t even glance over my shoulder. I kept walkin’, hoping to disappear into the fog, before he noticed my poise was nothin’ but a façade.

“I can see that. You’re covered in bruises—some of ‘em ain’t new.”

So maybe the man could see—or maybe he was blind. Why else would he still be talking at my back while I walked away?

“And I didn’t try to kill you—I coulda. It was you who tried to kill us. What the fuck? Why were you layin’ on the side of the road?”

I was only tryin’ to get away—he just happened into my path.

“You’re obviously still alive so…unless you were trying your best road-kill impression…”

He trailed off and hadn’t moved from his spot, but for some reason, my achin’ feet had stopped me flat.

“Do I look like I’m in the mood to talk?” I spun around to face him. “Usually, when a lady walks away from a man, he’ll do one of two things.” My façade was close to crumblin’ so I tried to make it quick.

He leaned against the bike, laughin’ at me. “Oh, and what two things do men do? Maybe I’ve been doin’ it all wrong.”

I was so tired ya could’ve knocked me over with a feather, but I still caught his tone right between the eyes. Maybe that’s where the invisible target is painted.

“You either come after her, to bring her back where she belongs, or ya shine it on and leave her be—in peace.” I started walking again.

“Since we don’t know each other, I’m hopin’ you’re inclined to do the latter.”

“Well, ya homicidal priss—you might be interested to know there is another option here.”

Now he had me curious. Ain’t that always the one that bites ya in the ass?

“Do tell, oh wise mirage of North Bumfuck. What is the other way?” I heard him movin’ around, but the fog was still thick enough I couldn’t see.

“Shoes—I’ve got ‘em, you need‘em. I see the way you’re limpin’. How far do you expect to get with bare feet? This road’ll be scalding soon. I don’t think you’ll get very far.”

He had to go and offer shoes—my weakness and right now an absolute must-have.

“So, are you a shoe salesman or somethin’? Or do you just look for homicidal women and offer them footwear?” I found myself wandering slowly back in his direction. If he’d had food, I wouldn’t turn so fast, but my sore feet were another thing entirely.

“Do you want ‘em or not?”

I could see as I neared, he held a dusty pair of boots in his hand. They weren’t perfect, but perfectly alright by me.

Once I was close enough to see—I noticed the rugged beauty of him and the boots.

“So, as I said, there’s another way. You get them…to come to you.”

I woulda felt tricked, if he didn’t have something so damned important.

“By the way, I’m Colt. You gonna let me help you out or what?”

His eyes darted across my skin—checkin’ every mark like Santa checkin’ off a damn list. I couldn’t even try to lie and say I didn’t need his help. I needed it now more than I’d needed anything in a long time.

“What kinda help are you offerin’? Don’t you think coverin’ my feet is help enough? Or are you an altar boy in disguise…maybe Saint Colt of the Dusty Boots?”

“I’m no altar boy—and I sure as hell ain’t no saint—just a man who sees a chick in need of help—nothin’ more.”

There was that calm again—just standing there on the side of the road—no pretense, no bullshit. I hadn’t come across one of them before. Maybe it was the Yankee accent or somethin’.

“Well, in case you’re Prince Charming, I don’t fit into those slippers, and I left my ball gown in a heap years ago.”

“Do I look royal or charming to you?” He folded his big tattooed arms across his chest and smirked.

His look did have appeal—depending on how you like your princes.

The Reviews Are In

Golden Doll has its own website now.

It's time and Liberty & Calix deserve it!

It's a newly emerging site, waiting to break from its cocoon. Over time, just like everything else, it'll take on a life of its own. Hopefully Liberty will drop in and write some columns or something (she was a sought after rock journalist prior to becoming a slave.)

Go check out the pre-publishing reviews. Thus far, its been as well received as I'd imagined (in some cases more so.) Spank you all BUNCHES and HEAPS for your feedback!

Interviewed by BDSMWriterscon.com

I was interviewed by www.bdsmwriterscon.com for the Kinky Chats feature of their site.

Stop on over and leave a comment for me or another Kinky Chat author or ask something new! What a cool addition to an already great site!

I'm still bouncing over the Golden Flogger nominations for:

Not Even Death #1-Eternally Your Master

Not Even Death #2-Still Your Master

It's less than 160 days until the convention and I am hoping to attend and walk Calico's footsteps around NYC.Until then, I'm back to preparing the finishing touches on "Golden Doll" and riding on the back of Colt Daniels' old Shovelhead in Ocala (with a great big smile on my face!)

Golden Doll

I'm ecstatic to announce the completion of
Angel to Butterfly #1-Golden Doll.

The second group of beta readers (a reviewer and few authors) will be reading and giving their input, then, it'll be off to the publishers for consideration.

I've polled what I consider an interesting mix of people to give their opinions/critiques. Some have been in the lifestyle others are vanilla. Most are avid readers and one doesn't read at all (her contribution was valuable since she's vanilla, married forever and doesn't typically read.) I've used a nice cross section of ages spanning decades--from a thirty-something, homemaker who devours books to a seventy-something retiree who is a voracious reader (one is lifestyle aware, the other is not-I'll let you imagine which.)

The reviews have been predominantly stellar. Some things changed to keep the flow and stay with the pacing (thank you oh devourer of literature.)

One said, "I feel as if I'm watching the whole thing--standing in the room with them. It makes you want to be Liberty so you can have (a man like) Calix."

Another said, "Its very suspenseful....OMG Calix is almost magical--I might be in love."

I'm ready to send her out, let her fly from the nest and take on the life I dreamed for her.

Blurb:

Liberty Lafayette was used to transformation. She’d been remodeling herself for years and felt she
finally had the ideal disguise, the perfect armor to stay safe.

That all changed when she encountered him.

Calix Xavier is a man used to getting and having his way. He’d been the protective Daddy type as long as he could remember. As a lifestyle Master/Daddy Dominant he could have his pick of
any submissive he chose kneeling at his feet.

He was compelled to choose her.

She was the toughest nut of the bunch—with the sweetest spirit. He could see all she hid. But she’d have to choose to show him, submit to him of her own free will.

How long could she run, carrying the armor encased wings on her heart?  How long could she hide the broken pieces and twisted halo?

How much pain could they both endure before she surrendered to—becoming—something completely new?

Experience the journey of Liberty as she learns the depths of
submission and what it can truly mean to be a slave.

She’d been driven to her knees by life...could she be inspired to them by love?

More to come "Golden Doll" until then, check out the interview I did with Liberty on 4th of July.

FSOG Review

First, let me say, I do not typically do reviews. It isn't that I don't have an opinion, I do, but reviews just aren't my cup of coffee. (I'll tell anyone who asks my opinion but I know my strong points and reviews are not among them.)

That being said, I have strong feelings about Fifty Shades of Grey the series, the BDSM life/life style and ultimately, I have them about the movie.

I was on the Charlie Hunnam bandwagon, I felt a character who is castrated the way Christian Grey is by Ana should be played by an actor who is proven to have some balls (no such luck.)

Christian...Almost Makes Me Want to Change Religions

So, I was never completely on board with this Jamie Dornan guy to begin with. When I read of his little remark about wanting to be entertained while watching people do a real life BDSM scene it made me step away from the platform even further. (Real life scenes, although entertaining to some, serve a much higher purpose to the participants than a strip show/male review.)

This brings me to the actual movie. I didn't hate it.
(But if this is how my favorite of the three books materialized, I doubt I'll somehow love the other two movies more.)

Anyway, the Jamie Dornan train--I wasn't on board, stepped away from the platform and now I completely left the station on this guy. Generally I wouldn't remark on looks, but, considering the subject matter, looks are sort of important.

I could've lived with his cold, almost robot like presence--I've met dominant males with those characteristics and they aren't without some sort of charm and sex appeal. I just couldn't get past his eyes. To me, the eyes are very important, in a dominant (to me) even more so. One of his eyes is bigger than the other and it was hard not to look.
(This does lead me to wonder about the robotic personality and consider he could be a Cyborg.)

I also had a difficult time getting past his lame hair style. (That is all.)

Lastly, and this one is almost as important as the eyes--and if he's actually speaking it takes the lead--his facial expressions when he talks aggravated the hell out of me! There was just nothing sexy about his mouth, and worse, he had micro-movements around his lips that distracted me from hearing what he had to say.

If he just sat there, in some of the more casual attire and looked straight to the camera (like before he spoke when he walked into the hardware store) he could be sorta schmexy-ISH. When it was simply his profile and a wider angled shot--there could be deliciousness (like when he crawled up to her on the bed the first time.) But, since it was a whole movie with dialogue and multiple camera angles--he was not the best choice to cast.
(This thinking reminded me of the 1970s movie "Looker" because as soon as he moved or talked his hotness dropped to arctic iciness.)

With the fluff out of the way (I can have dessert first if I choose) it's on to the meat and potatoes of the movie.

BDSM Rant and Roll

I've been conflicted about this series from the start (clearly to anyone who knows me or has read things I've said in regard to it.) It's a love/loathe relationship (which fits the Boderline Personality Disorder both characters seem to possess.)

I'm vocal that I can't stand the Ana character--I've wanted to smack her since I read. (Dakota Johnson did a much less annoying version on screen--I actually liked the way she portrayed the character.) Recently I've come to realize, it is their relationship and something like this could very well happen (to some degree.) We're all different colors, shades, textures and hues of flawed so why not?

What gets my cage rockin' is not the story of the characters, but that the media (and thus merchandising people) have painted this as THE SHADE of BDSM. It may be a shade of someone's BDSM experience but its just a shame this one got the attention it has.

It (FSOG) seemed on a mission to save the poor, broken dominant from his life of torment and self loathing. Yet its spawned a vast amount of curiosity seekers who are buying tons of sex toys--attempting to endorse the life Ana castrated (saved) poor Christian from. (Ironic?)

I considered these things while I watched, critiqued and wished (tried to picture) Jax in the leading role.

One part rattled my chain more than others--the last spanking scene. It had nothing to do with my distaste for the actor, it wasn't shot poorly--it just wasn't written in any healthy way (but then it would've gone against the initial, obvious mission statement.)

Christian allowed himself to be goaded into losing self control. He was manipulated by Ana to take her into the RRofP and show her the worst (which is off, but she is a novice.) I know he's supposed to be human (or robot or cyborg) but a dominant with so much experience would have to be in control of himself and not let the sub twist him that way. (Dom card-suspended--Christian is in time-out!)

Then, to top the scene off--she counts the lashes and cries her tears without a single safe-word used (no yellow, red, orange or tangerine.) But gets angry at him--yells and storms off--when he did what she manipulated him into doing to begin with.

This pissed me off in the book and more on screen. (I enjoyed the first book but when I watched it there were things that stood out more on the big screen than they did when I read.)

Some of it was steamy, some rang true to things I've seen or experienced. There were parts that were healthier than others (which is what kept me reading and ultimately watching.)

There was no rape--but he did have a stalker quality that I wasn't totally put off by. If the contract was such a big deal he could've waited for then to stalk her (then it would've possibly been consensual and part of the deal.) But to wait, he'd first have to learn some self-control--which it seems she's made him throw from the window of the train.

Editing

I think the editing deserves a big hand for the way they cut the sex scenes together, showing just enough without crossing over. I was actually sort of impressed with this part.

They lost me on one part--not sure if something was cut and left on the floor in the Red Room of Pain or what.

The part directly after they played the first time--she was in bed alone and I was annoyed with his lack of aftercare. He came up, kissed her and BAMM next thing she's coming downstairs, dressed and they're going to his parents' house for dinner. (In fairness, maybe I dozed for a moment? Nah, I doubt it!)

I'll be hard pressed to see the others if he is still playing Christian Grey, the story annoys me as it unfolds and I just don't know if I could sit through it and him for those. (Morbid curiosity may get the better of me.)

I know it sound like I hated it--but I really didn't. Some was really hot--and both characters have some redeeming qualities. I just wish E.L. James had picked a different lifestyle to know nothing about before writing a novel--then maybe it would've been a good story with fucked up characters I/we could feel something for.

I'll quickly site "Secretary" as a better example. E. Edward Grey was conflicted, tormented about his proclivities. Lee was a tortured soul who cut and was completely socially awkward. He pushed her away because of his disgust for his own needs but ultimately, they saved each other. (I still cry every time I watch the ending parts.)

Even now, watching Blacklist I get misty. I know the original Mr. Grey was once alive and well in Raymond "Red" Reddington.

I guess there are many colors to paint our world--these are only two possibilities.

Wet Whips & Kisses,
